The dreaded Juggernaut, the Pittsburgh Pirates. I don't understand how Lou still has a job, and I can't believe I continue to watch this [expletive] and think they'll turn it around.

If we had any sort of respectable offense things would be much different against this team.

Look at the scores of games against Pittsburgh:

L 3-2

L 4-2

L 11-1

L 10-6

L 4-3

W 4-3

L 3-2

L 3-1

W 6-1

L 2-1

The Pirates have a baseball worst 5.31 ERA, and we are averaging 2.8 runs per game against them. Only 2 games have they scored more than 4 runs in a game against them.

If we scored 5 runs a game against the Pirates, which is roughly their ERA, the record against the Pirates would be 8-2 instead of 2-8. The offense has completely shut down against the Pittsburgh [expletive] Pirates.

Pathetic excuse for a team full of pathetic excuses for ballplayers managed by a pathetic excuse for a man. Cant even beat the [expletive] Pirates on a 17 road game losing streak. Why is it that these [expletive] teams like the Pirates, Orioles, Royals, and Marlins fire managers right and left when they dont even try to put a team together, but a piece of [expletive] like Pinealla with $200 million worth of ballplayers cant do a god damned thing with them. 9 games back or whatever in a [expletive] division, there probably isnt much hope for this team, but if there is a faint glimmer left, it aint going to be with Pinealla. The guy needs to go. Hopefully getting swept by the Pirates will yield some wholesale changes.

8-2 against the Cubs, 18-48 against the rest of Major League Baseball.

If they played a whole season at the pace they've played the other 29 MLB teams, they'd be a 44-118 (.274) team. But against the Cubs they play at a 130-32 (.800) pace.

that is [expletive] awesome

Lou is baffling. Taking Byrd out and moving Colvin to center? Batting Nady against Dotel instead of Fotenot when lefties are hitting .333 off of him? Leaving Cashner out there for 2 innings and no sign of Marshall?

Thats because the Cubs suck. If they could have mustered just a .500 record vs. the Pirates and Astros, they could be somewhere in this joke of a divison, but there just not good enough. Once in a while, they'll come up with an offensive barage, but then the bats predictably go back into hibernation. How the hell the man who paid $200 million on this trash still has a job is beyond me.

The Diamondbacks literally threw away a victory against the Cardinals. They gave up three runs on errors in the 9th.

The Cardinals winning is no longer relevant to the Cubs 2010 season but it is still frustrating to see them win like that.

We're a half a game better then the Royals. That's exciting.

The Royals also have a ton of talent coming. And Alex Gordon OPSing aroun 1.100 at AAA. They are a good GM hire away from being pretty good.

Brett Jackson homered again tonight. We should hope we lose at the big league level.

oh i have been in "lose cubs lose" mode for a month now. this team is just bad, and losing brings a better draft pick and more chance that hendry and piniella are gone.

Another stat:

For the season opponents (including the Cubs) are hitting a combined .286/.359/.468/.826 against the Pirates. The Cubs however are hitting .227/.307/.350/.657 against them. Unbelievable.

yep, I mean it still sucks to watch, but I get it. We have to hope we lose too bad the Orioles have that down better than us. I'd love to add Rendon.

Id take Billy Butler and his record setting GIDP pace over any hitter on the Cubs.

Dayton Moore might have given him to us in '08 when he sent him down because he didn't have power. When he was 21.

I've been a Billy Butler fan for quite some time now.

Nope it's only idiots. Kansas City is employing one also. Seriously can anyone think of one good reason why Gordon is at AAA?

So how many more losses will it take for someone to lose their job? Or is everyone in the organization happy now because the Toyota sign is up and they showed Carlos Zambrano who was boss.
