Ubaldo Jiminez

I haven't paid much attention to other teams so far this season, so color me shocked when I decide to look through last night's box scores and discover that Ubaldo Jiminez is 9-1 with an 0.88 ERA so far this year. Jesus H.....

90.7 LOB%, .226 babip, 1.8 HR/FB%.... the baseball gods are certainly looking kindly upon him

That's what I was kind opf figuring. Everyone knew he was going to be a good pitcher, but not this good. Something has to give eventually with those numbers.

His ERA+ at the moment is 515

On the flip side of that is Dan Haren. Saw some highlights of him getting rocked today and his ERA is up to 5.35.

Since B-R hasn't updated yet, here's what he was at coming into today... 4.79 ERA, 1.35 WHIP. He's got a .337 BABIP (.291 is his career average), despite a 17% LD% (career 21%) and a 12.4% HR/FB% (career 7.7%). His BB rate is up a bit but his K rate is also. He's basically giving up more hits (more are going for extra bases also) and more of his flyballs are leaving the yard.

Those numbers are only going to go up after giving up eight runs on 10 hits including four HRs today.

I'm still waiting for these stats to come up and bite him in the ass but it's just not happening. Anyone know how to calculate ERA+ to find out what it is now? I sat at 512 before this game started

Whatta scrub

I don't understand your sig. why is that guy circled?

Just shows the horrible breakdown in the Sharks D that allowed Buff to skate through the middle of the ice and put an unchallenged shot on net in OT.

His ERA+ now sits at a paltry 484.

In somewhat related news (but not worthy enough for its own thread), I didn't realize how amazing Arthur Rhodes has been for the Reds. 24IP 1ER 7BB 23K 0.38ERA 0.66WHIP

That's good for a an ERA+ of 1132..... at the age of 40

Crimeny, Arthur Rhodes has been around forever. I believe he once struck out Joe DiMaggio.
