We are on the right path! Yesterday's victory is the start of great things to come!!!

in what before this season would have appeared to be one of the biggest pitching mismatches in baseball history, the D-Bags send Danny Haren (34.0 IP, 32 H, 17 ER, 6 HR, 8 BB, 38 K, 1.17 WHIP, 4.50 ERA, 17.2 LD%, .310 BABIP) against the surprising Carlos Silva (26.0 IP, 17 H, 5 ER, 1 HR, 3 BB, 15 K, 20.5 LD% with a .215 BABIP... uh oh).

Haren, if you might remember, was traded by the Cardinals for Mark Mulder, who basically sucked a fat one in St. Louis. Thank you for making that trade, Walt Jocketty, and not leaving the National League to face a 1-2-3 of Haren, Wainwright and Carpenter.

Any rain is expected to be done by game time; we here at the NSBB Forecast Center® foresee a high in the upper 70s with a southwest wind at 10-20 mph. Winds will be blowing straight out to CF and right-center, so pitches are advised to keep the ball down!

Go Cubs, let's catch fire and win two in a row!!!

(No baseball cards today as the Diamondbacks do not have any history)

Cubs vs. Cubs? You know something the rest of us don't, Truffle?

Yeah..........I don't know if I could stomach a Cubs .v. Cubs game.

The only game in MLB history in which both teams lost. If there's any team that could do it, it's the Cubs.

Winds are blowing out at 20MPH and Soto is going to get free passes to face the pitcher.

Lou is an absolute moron. I officially hate him now.

It just makes no sense at all. It would be one thing if Soto was a defensive liability and Hill had to be in there often as a late game sub (and even that scenario doesn't justify starting Soto as low as 8), but that's not the case. So dumb.

Might as well play Hill today. I'm already envisioning Soto having nothing good to swing at all day long. Even if Silva leaves early for a PH, do we have faith that Tracy or Colvin can hit Haren?

Silva keeping it down too much to Johnson.

I got scared when I didn't see the Cubs on EI. I actually don't check WGN anymore until all else fails.

I know, it's posted in the thread title.

Out by a mile. How does the umpire miss that?
