I think part of Wells' success hinges on his ability to pitch effectively out of the stretch. He mixes his timings and delivery very well. He seems to let the hitters sit in the box just up to that point where they begin to get uncomfortable, and then he pitches just before they attempt to call time. This can be unnerving and annoying for hitters. Plus, he usually hits his spot...

What kind of baseball does this team play?

 

 

The kind that continually gets shut down by absolute garbage starting pitchers. Freaking Lopez has NO HITS through 3. :banghead:

Assuming the Cubs offense doesn't score 3 runs today and we do lose, I don't even think the 2006 Cubs started out any homestands 1-5. Ok they probably did, but still.
