3 montreal sticks on every puck in the zone.

plus the capital players keep skating the puck in and then they look shocked then they're surrounded by four habs. their entire team is back in their zone; how about a hard around the boards or a soft dump into the corner? they keep trying to do the same thing and it's not working. maybe it's not their style to dump and chase or muck and grind, but that's what they're going to have to do.

isn't this what the russians tried to do against the canadians in the olympics?

If Montreal were to hang on, this is simply a stunning upset. I know President's Trophy winners have been ousted in the first round before but how many of them blew 3-1 series leads?

yes and it failed miserably. the russians kept trying to stickhandle through canadian players who are way too talented to be beat that way; all the turnovers kept turning into odd man rushes and goals.

i almost feel like montreal has had the better chances this period. they haven't had many but they've been good ones, like that post there.

According to the graphic on Versus just now, none of them have ever done it before. No No. 1 seed has.

Assuming they hold on....the 4 seeded Penguins have home ice advantage until the Cup Finals. Also, the Blackhawks would now have home ice in a Stanley Cup finals. Amazing that the 4,6,7,8 all advanced to the 2nd round. Penguins have to be liking their chances to get to their 3rd straight Finals.
