Five credit to Rocky, he really re-energized this franchise that his A-hole dad was determined to kill

Yeah I wish he could tell his Dad how expensive this Cup was.

his dad would role over with the likes of Madden contract, he was such a tight wad

Does anyone know how much profit the Hawks could make this year compared to the bad years? I always wondered why Bill Wirtz thought he could make more his way. I know that the tides were beginning to change after drafting Kane and Toews, but I doubt Wirtz would have gone the same direction as Rocky. Rocky really deserves a ton of credit.

Patrick Sharp said he won two championships, both on this ice. What did he mean by that??

probably won an AHL championship with the philadelphia phantoms... usually they played at the spectrum (old flyers arena) but i'm guessing their playoff games they moved to the wachovia center.

Just a random thought. It would be hilarious if someone dropped the cup.

It's got an interesting history, lost, left in cabs, elevators, you name it.

I remember asking a die-hard Red Sox fan after 2004 how much of a grace period he would give the Sox before he became a neurotic, cynical bastard again. He said five years.

Perhaps it's different in hockey, but I'm thinking about that in terms of all the tough decisions this team is going to have to make in the offseason. It's not that I don't care now, but the pressure is off, you know?

On a related note, Cristobal Huet's name is going on the Cup.

Honestly I think I'm just going to enjoy watching my favorite teams for a while, for me I look at all my favorite teams as kind of a chain and every failure builds upon itself. I think I'll just enjoy watching individual games for a while. Don't have to be so obsessed with seeing a title.

I know it but has it ever been dropped during the celebration.

obviously i have no idea how i'll feel months from now, but right now i feel like next season will just be relaxing to watch with no expectations.

all i ask from them next year is that they be competitive and give me a reason to watch, and we know they'll do that.

man, we are stanley cup champions.

Do they display the cup at the winning team's area next year or anything? I would love to see it.

No each guy gets it for a day during the summer and then it goes back to the HHOF.

i haven't read through this thread yet so i dont know if it's been mentioned, but did you guys see roenick crying after the game talking about how "it's chicago" and "i never got to do this"? it was pretty emotional.

Holy Hell so strange. From the minute they tied it I was envisioning Doc's call of the game winner and then it ends in maybe the strangest way ever for an OT Cup winner.

Unreal. I love how the post-game interviews showed how polar-opposite Kane and Toews are again. Great move he made to get that shot off. Tough angle, great shot.

Yep. It was a great moment.

They're popping the champagne. Kane's pretending to whack off.
