I've never been so into a team I follow - or just started following - this close to winning it all. Save for the Bears-Colts SB a few years back. (was too young to really remember the '85 "SB Shuffle" season). Also remember the Bulls' 6 semi-recent championships with MJ, but really, kinda knew they'd win those.

As much as the nerves are driving me nuts, I could get used to this kinda thing. :good:

Remember that; Cubs, Bears, Bulls (and Iowa Hawkeyes)!

I was a huge Bulls fan as a kid, so obviously I've gotten a lifetime worth of championships. But hockey and the Hawks have always been #1. This will be better than all of it.

I don't see any way they come out and lay an egg in this period. Which is good because Philly won't go quietly.

Get the next goal and then play smart. Don't give the zebras any reason to do what they want to do.

Very good point.

However, they kinda do that anyways. So Blackhawks, get them [ie, goals] as much as possible, cause the refs are gonna do everything they can to let Philly even things up, if not win.

The 1985 Bears are the last professional team to win a title amongst my collection of teams. I'll admit I stopped following the Blackhawks for a while there...........after the JR and Belfour years........things sucked. Once they stopped making the playoffs it was hard to stay connected, at least for me. Call it fairweather, call it what you want. Growing up the hockey was almost always on cable and my parents never had cable so it was hard to get that close connection to the Blackhawks in my formative years.

But starting last season, I got back into it again. I watched all the playoff games, I was pumped for it. I feel like I know the team again. And this season of course I've kept an eye on them and I've been pretty stoked for the playoffs since the first puck drop. So yeah.......if they can finish this, it will feel like a special moment to me.

20 minutes. 20 minutes that you just have to play the Flyers even up [at least on the most important thing, the scoreboard], Blackhawks.

BRING HOME THE CUP!!! :beg:

What a horse crap penalty that was on Hossa. . . then to score right away: beautiful. Perhaps my second favorite playoff moment so far after Game 5 against Nashville.

So, so close. Philly's going to pin their ears back, Hawks better be ready.

You know it is weird but that penalty on Hossa might have been the turning point.......the last straw. The Blackhawks just seemed to get even more fired up by that. But whatever, they need to finish this for it to mean anything.

Needed to cleanly win that opening faceoff to have a chance on that PP. But still, Toews and Hossa look so great out there together.

It's been said already but my God, the Hossa penalty was just unconscionable.

Sharpie is making a bid for Conn Smythe. He and Hossa have arguably been our most consistent forwards in the playoffs. Buff's goal probably gets him in the mix if he adds another one in the 3rd. Yeah I know we haven't won but [expletive] it I'm talking Conn Smythe,

Just stay out of the box. They're going to be looking for a call here, play smart.
