That site you linked is blocked for me at work.

It's from the SI swimsuit issue a couple years back where they did body painting and one of the models had a cubs jersey painted on her.

That is awesome. Everything about it is hysterical.

Ozzie making out with someone

sox fans jumping on the bandwagon

Harry singing from heaven

USCellular flying off

The fan with the Steve Garvey voodooo doll

Bartman

I don't get the devil in the puddle or the leprechauns though...

The devil is frozen in that "puddle" = Hell freezing over.

The leprechauns and the gold and the rainbow and whatnot are saying how much luck (or how improbable it would be, hence the goats flying (AKA when pigs fly), the unicorn and the CTA being flush with cash, etc.) it would take for the Cubs to win it all.

Plus Steve Goodman in heaven.

Devil in the puddle=hell freezing over?

The leprechauns - pot of gold at the end of the rainbow=good luck?

The goats are angels, ie dead.

The money is also growing on trees.

Unless there's something that spells out this piece of insanity, my money is on a terrible "when pigs fly" visual pun, especially given how corny the rest is.

the goat curse is dead, hell has frozen over, and luck is on our side.

I figured it was '84, but I'm not sure why they picked that over '69. I guess Santo clicking his heels is supposed to represent that and they felt they had to squeeze in '84 somehow. Seems like the artist dropped the ball by not including a black cat somewhere.

This thing raises more questions than it answers.

Why the Padres effigy? Yeah, I know the historical reason, but why them over any number of other teams? Is it supposed to be someone in particular?

Garvey and Bartman are both depicted, and both are credited, at least partially, for the demise of each particular Cubs playoff hope.

Is that not a DePaul Blue Demon?

You'd think Garvey would be forgiven and invited to celebrate like Bartman then.

Nobody likes Steve Garvey.

Haha. Yeah. Bartman was a Cub fan. Garvey played for the Padres. A Cub fan can more easily be forgiven than a member of the opposing team.

Not to mention that Bartman is sort of a scapegoat rather than the actual cause.
