ESPN has been involved in a number of sexually-related miscues the last few years (Reynolds, Philips, Kutselias, and Tony) and although it brings them publicity, they realize four is too many. I think ESPN is just trying to stop this and laying down the kaybash by being a little too tough on Tony. What Tony did was wrong, but 2 weeks is a little excessive.

In the same respect, they also are keenly aware what does and doesn't consititute sexual harassment. They haven't been shy about ditching some of these guys, and I think if they thought what Tony was doing was sexual harassment, there wouldn't have been a hesitation in booting him out the door.

Sexual harrassment occurs in degress, there are things that are grounds for immediate dismissal, things that will cost you some punishment, and things that will warrant a slap on the wrist or firm talking to. The fact that they suspended him indicates they viewed this seriously.

And ESPN is way past number 4 on the incident report.

My understanding from what has come out is that this wasn't as suspension because of sexual harrassment. It was a suspension for disparaging another employee of the company he works for.

Here are the Berman comments that he made right after the Hannah Storm stuff:

I know I'm not supposed to be critical of ESPN people, like if I point out that people say that they lost 50 or 60 pounds have actually gained all the weight back..." (Co-host interrupts: "And then some. Gained the weight back, back, back, back.")
