Shut wrigley down for a season, leave the shell, the bleachers, outfield wall and scoreboard, then gut the rest and rebuild it in the same style

Even if they worked from the first day that Chicago weather will allow it to the last, that'd take longer than a season, don't you think?

Let's say season ends October 1, they would have 18 months to do construction. Even though that's two winters, its probably possible with enough determination.

Playoffs?

Are you kidding me? PLAYOFFS?

Even with all the upgrades -- which have helped Comiskey II tremendously -- it's still not a really enjoyable place to view a game. Behind the seats -- i.e., the concourse -- it's much better than Wrigley, but even with the posts, the views are much better at Wrigley (players don't look like ants from the upper deck).

Close down Wrigley for two seasons, playing at Comiskey II, and rebuild the concourse. While they're at it, they need to add batting cages, workout areas, etc., somewhere, but I don't know where that would be. Hopefully, that's where Janet Marie Smith can add value.

is there any doubt that Reinsdorf will make it as difficult as possible for the Cubs to play at the Cell? (or Selig in Miller Park, for that matter?)

The concourse behind center field at The Cell is absolutely awesome and my favorite part about The Cell.

By the way, I was at Friday night's game... worst ball game experience of my life for many reasons. One of the more annoying aspects was the drunk behind me and two seats over screaming at the top of his lungs, "MAGGGGGGGGGYYYYYYYY" about every 20 seconds when Magglio Ordonez was in right field (we had seats in RF). Ughhhh and the damn wave which I absolutely HATE!

Here is what I am going to say. I've been for four Sox games this year (my best friend is a Sox game. I go to Sox games with him if he goes to Cubs games with me... that is the deal). The first game was very cool because I got along great with the other fans and it was just fun - complete strangers and I just BSing and chilling. The last three games were kind of dull. Well, that first game which I really liked, was the Sox playing the Yankees. Most of the fans there that night were Yankee fans. That tells the story. I guess the Yankees have cool baseball fans. And to set the record straight, when I go to the Cell, I go completely neutral and I generally do cheer for the Sox cause I don't hate them.

Yes, and how embarrassing should it be for the southside team to know that when the Yanks and Red Sox come to town, the majority of fans in that stadium are of the visiting team... just pathetic.

I'd be very interested in what she could do to rehab Wrigley. I'm all for keeping the Cubs there as long as it's possible, but eventually Wrigley Field will have to replaced completely. Too expensive to build in another part of the Wrigleyville area but feel it's part of the charm of a 'neighborhood' park. Weren't they going to build offices across Addison, where the Starbucks etc.. are located?

Wrigley is a destination, like Yankee Stadium and Fenway Park. Never heard anyone say they went specifically to see Busch 2, 3, 4, 5...XXV or Petco Park. Why would they? The Cell is an average park at best. Remember Reinsdorf was going to move to Tampa or the western suburbs(where more White Sox fans live) before the State of IL. cut him a deal.

The big change Ricketts needs to do first is fire Hendry and his incompetent staff. Then we'll talk about Wrigley.
