Grozelanny goes 9, giving up 15 hits. 172 pitches. Lou falls asleep and no one wakes him up.

Looper throws 8 perfect innings only to have Bobby Scales homer in the 9th

Milton Bradley buys a ticket to the game and runs outta the stands and hits Derrek Lee over the head with a steal chair WWE style.

Final Score

Cubs 1

Brewers 0

If neither Colvin or Fox play, especially Fox, and/or Scales plays again - Lou needs to be put down.

agreed...these games are far too important for this to keep happening.

Unless my sarcasm detection is way off, I think that's his point there.

Jake Fox and Tyler Colvin may have actual futures with this organization, so PLAY THEM

Stop trotting out Bobby Scales who not only has no future with the Cubs, but is a worse option both offensively and defensively anyway.

colvin is batting 7th and playing CF. i'm glad he's playing, but CF? i thought they gave up on that a couple of years ago. plus fukudome is playing RF... seems weird, but whatever.

I'm very interested to see him playing CF and that the Cubs chose him over Fukudome for that spot. The Cubs have never given up on Colvin in CF, but they haven't made it a priority to have him play there either and the minor league managers have often gone with better defensive lineups which caused him to move to the corner OF.

There's no way in the hell the Cubs (or any team really) would give up 15 hits and 0 runs.

Oh damn, I thought Scales going deep in the 9th off of a perfect Looper would of been more realistic.

you're right... barely:

The record for most hits by one team while being shut out is 14, set once in the NL and once in the AL. On September 14, 1913, Chicago Cubs ace Larry Cheney threw a complete-game shutout against New York, despite being beaten up by the Giant hitters. The Giants had a hit in every inning, but had only one runner reach third base. Cheney was helped by three New Yorkers getting caught stealing and one being thrown out trying to stretch a single into a double.
