not sure if i'm more pissed at that or at the hawks wasting a full 5-3 for the second time in a week

They didn't really do anything wrong. They took shots, they got traffic, they had some nice passes, they hit a post. It just didn't go in.

i didn't see it that way. i thought it was extremely stagnant. they were taking bad shots for a 2 man advnatage. they didnt really get close to scoring (the post was after the 2 man advantage was up)

that was a great game but what an irritating finish. the two guys closest to sharp on his breakaway were stoll and richardson. they're forwards. WTF WAS OUR DEFENSE DOING?

admiring how dreamy patrick sharp is?

Two soft goals for Niemi (I guess I could hear the argument that the second one wasn't that soft), but 28 saves. I'll definitely take that.

The first one was horrid. The second one wasn't obviously as bad, but it still was soft. He was pretty good outside of that, though. I'll take that performance every time from whoever our goalkeeper is for the rest of the year.

if they wanted to admire how handsome he is, they would've had a better view from their defensive zone.

i just watched the replay, and both d-men were skating full speed into the hawks zone (both forwards were back) because it looked like they may have had something going... and probably would have if not for the horrible pass. the turnover by richardson was just inexplicable, and the hawks got lucky when sharp (dont know why) was wayyy late getting back.

weird play

i could understand one guy jumping up -- it's 4 on 4, i expect a little bit of aggressive play -- but both dmen (especially randy jones who is just f'in terrible) jumping into the play was bad. richardson's turnover was awful, but it should have just been another turnover. it shouldn't have ever led to the game winning goal, or at least not a breakaway.

also was the missed call you were talking about earlier on doughty's high stick or am i completely spacing on something here? doughty's high stick wasn't a penalty.

The one where the Kings player whiffed on a puck, his stick came up and smacked Byfuglien in the face. I guess you could claim it was part of a "normal shooting motion" but not a "wild swing at a bouncing puck" as the rulebook states, but it sure looked like a penalty to me.

Edit: Actually, looking at the rulebook, I guess it probably wasn't a penalty. Stupid refs knowing the rules better than I do...
