Wow Dempster with 4 ERs in 4 innings against the hapless Padres.

Historically bad offseason. I would love if someone could show me a worse offseason by a team looking to improve immediately (i.e. no firesales).

If we lose this, is that 0-6 in this park this year? Didn't we go 0-4 here back in 2006? What a house of horrors.

Edit: nm, just 0-5

the 98 or so Orioles might have had one of those

0-6 in a single field without any playoff games?

It seems like the Cubs never win a late west coast game. I always end up going to bed tired and angry.

Could have sworn we once swept three or four games in SD not too long ago.

But not this year. Aside from weird things like teams playing half of their games in one stadium and half in another, we don't play anyone 6 times in the same place in one year

2006: 0-4

2007: 1-2

2008: 2-1

2009: 0-4 (2 to play)

So 3-11 in this park over the last 4 years, with a chance to go 3-13 (or 5-11).

What's funny is...

2005: 3-1

2004: 3-0

So we started out 6-1 in this ballpark and have gone 3-11 since.

CB Bucknor must have money on the Padres.

I thought he was out at full speed, but after seeing the replay I think it was the correct call.

DLee disagrees with you.

I promise you, we're not playing all 6 of our games against the Padres in SD this season

edit: which makes us 9-9

What are the Vegas odds against Dempster hitting for the cycle in a given game? 3000:1?

I know its not what you were asking, but he only has 2 singles today.
