This doesn't have anything to do with this article, but I've never seen batters look as foolish against a slider as many have against Michael Wuertz's.

My vote would be Steve Carlton. Who was it said hitting his slider was like "trying to eat soup with a fork"?

I'm not sure I've seen a better slider than Marmol's. Watching batters hit the deck thinking they're about to get drilled in the head, only to have the pitch end up right down the middle of the plate, is priceless.
