Can we send Marmol to the minors?

Someone said that with the amount of servce time Marmol has, he cant be optioned without other teams being able to make a claim or something like that, but the Brewers just optioned JJ Hardy, and he has more service time than Marmol.

Didn't Hardy clear waivers?

There were rumors that he was placed on waivers, but the Brewers denied the rumors. My guess is he was placed on waivers and cleared. Marmol likely wouldn't clear.

Methinks Marmol's elbow is about to go pop soon.

I was thinking the same thing myself. I thought the usual sign is a drop in velocity and he was hitting 94 last night. I wonder if his shoulder is giving him trouble.

Loss of velocity points to shoulder problems, loss of control points to elbow.

But he has perfect Mark Prior-like mechanics!

Theres no way a player with Hardys age, ceiling, and salary, much less at a premium position would clear waivers. If anything, he was claimed and pulled back.

I could see him possibly passing through waivers considering he's making almost $5 million this season and is very close to free agency. It's odd, though, as there are conflicting reports on whether or not he passed through waivers.
