Was there an obvious injury to Aram or was he just taken out of the game?

He got drilled in the elbow with a fastball and then left the game a few minutes later because it appeared he was woozy.

I don't care about the game anymore. I just care that Ram is alright. I can't even feel good about a win...

Ramirez was probably just really gassed if I had to guess. He looked woozy and they never looked at his elbow. I'd say a day of rest would probably be the best remedy

/glass half full

Or he never looked at his elbow because he was woozy.

There's plenty to get on Lou about for tonight, but the defensive switching between Baker and Soriano was probably the smartest thing he did all night.

Maybe we can finally move Soriano to 2nd and Fox to LF if Lou can predict where the hitter will hit the ball every time and move Soriano to the oposite position.

It'd be kind of fun to watch a baseball game with the players shuffling all around the field after every AB. We could even have Hill and Fox swap gear between at bats!

It had nothing to do with predicting, it had everything to do with the likelihood of a play.

If I had to guess, Id say Aramis will be day to day, so its good that we have Fox. I say the best thing to do is rest him a few games and send Shark down for a bat and then send said bat down for Gorz on tuesday.

With all the work the pen got tonight, the last thing they're going to do is go down another pitcher.

And what does sending down Shark have anything to do with that?

They'd more likely call up a pitcher than a bat for a day.

It's too late on a weekend night involving drinking and the Cub bullpen to go around joking like that.

I cant help but notice that Zs early exit is on every sports related website, such as MLB, ESPN, Rotoworld, as is Hanley Ramirez, but Aramises is mentioned nowhere. Does this mean its relatively minor or they just dont know anything?

The AP's write-up said neither injury was believed to be serious and makes it sound like Rammy is day-to-day and they'll see how he feels in the morning.

There's also this gem from the Cubs' new utilityman:

“Thank God they didn’t hit me a groundball,” Soriano said, “because I didn’t know what was going to happen.”

This game wore me out; went upstairs when it was 8-5 to take a bath, then next thing i hear it's tied up heading to extras; can we just move the Marlins to the American League for Kansas City so we don't have to play them other than the occasional interleague series every few years?

Florida, Milwaukee, and Arizona to the AL for KC, Baltimore, and Seattle. Deal.
