I've been lucky for the most part this year and didn't really didnlt have the talent to match my overall record. My team has been streaky and nothing in-between and hopefully with the improvements this week, they'll be more consistent.

I'm pretty content with my team, as I have decent production everywhere, with great production at a couple spots. No specific position is going to provide a huge upgrade for what I'd likely have to give up to get it, so short of making a quick flyer trade to shore up a couple spots, I'll ride the team that got me this far, and hope I keep winning.

I have enough talent I could be a seller here at the deadline and still field a full team. :)

Anyone want to make a last minute deal for a pitcher or Branyan / OF?

TB receives 1B/3B Russell Branyan for OF Todd Frazier and the 2010 1st rd. minor league pick.

That took less then an hour! :D

Quite a busy trade deadline today in Roadkill. Tim, I thought you were staying put.. :)

Yeah, I thought I made some improvements for next year. Hopefully, the players I gave up with help the guys in the playoff hunt as well.

Looking through the rosters..................there's some great teams for the playoffs.

I was going to, but people came to me with ideas.

Volquez is undergoing elbow surgery Monday and is likely done for the season. It wasn't reported whether the surgery is TJS, so it's not yet known whether he'll also be out some or most of next year. At least he'll be a cheap keeper (although not as cheap as it seems like Webb will be for Brian).

A young pitcher under Dusty developing arm trouble? That's unheard of.

Looking through the rosters, I'm sorta under the impression that the talent pool will be way better this coming offseason. I see some teams that are probably going to have to drop a lot of guys due to teams being at the cap.

In other words, I don't see a lot of teams with cap space. A few more perfect games from pitchers that aren't mine would be terrific! :D

That's partly why I don't mind Volquez being out for the rest of the year. It will keep him from accumulating any more points against the cap.

I can't believe none of the mods here took me up on the game chat on cbs to ban either wrigley or badnews. :(

I'm too lazy.

If no one's done it about one hour into the work day on Monday, I will gladly do it. :)

I wasn't on NSBB during the game. I was just occasionally taking a break from the game and reading the chat discussion.

You should get to do the honors yourself as a belated birthday present. :D

I'm only on briefly this morning, then I'll be gone most of the day. Wrigley23 should be abandoned as he's never provided anything of value. Badnews...I wonder if it would be worth it for me to talk to him first. He has never been a popular poster, but I used to feel he actually contributed something to the place.

OK, I sent Wrigley23 packing (along with his most common IP address) but left Badnews around if you think you can salvage him.

I see that my trash (Hardy) is Todd's treasure. :D

Player that plays a premium position that has underperformed significantly compared to previous results = keeper for next year.

But there's only so many keeper points to go around.

He has valid reasoning in some of his negative viewpoints. Of course when that's all you do is provide negative thoughts & regardless if it's valid or not, it isn't anything different than your avg. troll.

Yes, but I have a decent number of exempt players and injured guys to possibly absorb him.

I want to keep:

Doumit (missed most of the year) lower points

Prado-exempt

Hardy-lower than expected points.

Manny-missed significant time.

CC or Grienke (maybe both if poss.)

Johnson-exempt

Romero-exempt

Carmona-exempt

Maine or Duchseherererererererer- injured

Glaus-injured

There's somewhat of a method to my madness. I'm hoping the point system doesn't take too much of a beating to where rosters completely change every year b/c there are no points.
