Worried about Houston yet?

We're currently tied with them in late July. I know we've been focusing on the Cardinals and Brewers, but what about Houston? For what it's worth, they have been outscored by their opponents by about 15 runs this season.

they have a history of late season runs, and the financial abilitiy (if not necessarily willngness) to spend on upgrades. To the extent that none of these teams are all that good and it might be a first to 85 wins race, yeah, I'm worried about another team being in that race.

despite their sweep of St Louis they haven't played well enough within the division. They have beat up on the west to the tune of 18-9

I'm in the EH category. They have a few old guys who will probably fall apart in the second half - but we'll see.

yeah but the west really isn't bad. the dodgers are very good, colorado is leading the WC and the giants are 6 games over .500.

 

still, their schedule isn't all that favorable. they get the mets now, which is good timing because the mets stink, but they're already done with the nationals and padres and still have 8 games remaining with the phillies (4 home, 4 road), 3 with the braves (home), 7 with florida (4 road, 3 home). they've already played all their home games with the cubs and have 7 road games remaining, and they have 3 home and 6 road with both the brewers and cardinals.

The only team that worries me in the Central is the Cubs. No one else has the firepower (currently) to beat us if we're playing our best, which we haven't done all year.

I'm not worried about the Astros. The lack pitchers outside of Oswalt and @home Wandy Rodriguez, so no I'm not concern about the Astros, because they are unlikely (financial restraints) to make any moves to upgrade their team.
