What are your guesses for the top 3 moves most likely to happen (any team, any player)? (No, there will not be a prize, but you have my permission to call yourself super cool for a day if you get them all right).

Here are my guesses in no particular order of assumed accuracy:

1. Halladay to the Dodgers for Billingsly and solid minor leaguers

2. Cubs pick up Freddy Sanchez for Fontenot and 2 minor leaguers

3. Cards trade for Mark Tehan...(he steps in pixy dust on way to STL of course)

Halladay stays in Toronto. Holliday stays in Oakland.

Cliff Lee ends up with the Cards, Brewers, Phillies, Angels, Red Sox, Dodgers, or Yankees. One of those teams gets Doug Davis as a consolation prize.

Jim Hendry makes some pointless aquisition ala Matt Lawton/Jody Gerut/Steve Traschle, if not now, at the waiver deadline.

Freddy Sanchez ends up in San Fran for Jonathon Sanchez+

Orioles trade a bunch of guys.

The Dodgers would be getting bent over in that deal.

Pretty much any team who trades for Halladay is going to get bent over long term, so it better be a team who can guarantee themselves a WS win in the next 2 years.

Cubs stand pat

I think this is the most certain thing that will happen at the deadline.

But my guesses:

1: Erik Bedard to the Dodgers for a couple of prospects. (Halladay is highly unlikely to be moved)

2: The Cards trade Ankiel, Wallace and a prospect to the A's for Matt Holliday.

3. Braves trade Javier Vazquez to the Rangers for Hank Blalock.

I don't think Holliday will bring that kind of return at this point. His numbers haven't been bad, but they haven't been nearly what they were in Colorado.

What return? A guy without a position with mediocre power and a guy who sucks?

Brett Wallace is their only real chip outside of Rasmus, who they apparently won't trade. I'd think they'd save him to trade for something they actually need.

IMO, their rotation outside of Carp and Wainwright is more suspect than their offense, particularly since Ludwick started hitting again.

Maybe, but then again I said "guess" at the beginning. The Cards/A's like to deal as much as the Cubs/O's, Marlins do and I could definately see Beane send Holliday to St. Louis.

Cubs stand pat, but whatever move another team makes that wins them the World Series will be awkwardly and less successfully aped by Hendry this off season
