I will be attending the N.O. Zephyr's vs. Iowa Cubs game tonight. Never been to a Cubs minor league game. Only gone to Indianapolis Indians baseball games in the minors. Gonna get tickets behind the Cubs dugout and be decked out in Cubs gear. I post anything of interest that I see later tonight or tomorrow.

Jeremy Papelbon got called up to Iowa and pitched 1.1 scoreless innings.

Any relation?

Brother.

Jeremy also has a twin in the Red Sox organization. I think his name is Joshua. Hes the worst of the 3 though.

Was Hung Wen Chen ever highly thought of, because hes not particularly good.

According to the birth date they are also twins meaning Jeremy and Joshua.

Just kind of a random question, but why did the Cubs convert Dylan Johnston to Pitcher? I know he has a good arm, but he hit really well last year, at an age-appropriate level. I know he was off to a miserable start this year, but I would think a guy who showed as much pop (15 HRs in >300 ABs in Peoria) as he did would be given a little more of a chance.

He had very comparable numbers to Vitters through roughly the same # of ABs at Peoria, although he was 2 years older at the time. Still, a line of .288/.349/.524 w/ 15 HRs and 50 RBIs last year seems very respectable. Granted, the rest of his career had been pretty lousy.

Johnston had a 30+% K rate every stop of his professional career. He just wasn't going to be able to sustain any type of success with a 1/4 BB/K rate.

Fair enough. I figured it had to do with him being a big K guy, and his overall terrible minor league numbers. He did show flashes last year, though.
