The three players from Korea - pitcher Su-Min Jung, shortstop Hak-Ju Lee and outfielder Jae-Hoon Ha - will have the benefit of a translator in Hyun Choi. He will be especially helpful away from the field.

On the field, the three Koreans have already begun to pick up the baseball terms.

"Pretty much the way we go about the baseball aspect is using the international language (of the game)," Hawks hitting instructor Ricardo Medina said. "Hak-Ju Lee, for example, has been in the instructional league in Arizona. He's understanding the terms, so in a baseball aspect, he's pretty good."

...

John Contreras, a first baseman from the Dominican Republic who speaks English and Spanish, said he's noticed an interesting trend among the Korean players.

"They speak more Spanish than English," he said. "When we're talking in Spanish, they're picking up more of the Spanish words."

Castro's HR was an inside-the-parker. He's the cover guy for MiLB.com. :) Not a shocker but he was the MVP of the all-star game.

After 7, bonus babies Lee, Cerda, and Watkins have combined for 5 errors and 4 hits.

Looks like the final tally is 5 to 5. Watkins added 2 walks.

Lee was 3/5 and Ha was 1/3. Looks like Cliff Andersen was demoted from Peoria to Boise.

"I thought the center fielder was going to catch the ball," Castro said. "After that, I just put my head down and go. I knew I was going to score."

"It was a hard-hit ball," Revere said.

North skipper Jody Davis, who managed Daytona to last season's league title and now works as the Chicago Cubs Minor League catching coordinator, noticed the backspin on Castro's hit almost immediately.

"The center fielder tried to read it, but the backspin on it created the elevation," Davis explained.

South manager Jeff Smith of the Miracle put it in simpler terms.

"The kid crushed it," he said. "The ball was backspinning. The ball was just crushed.

"Ben got up as high as he could possibly get, but I don't think anybody realized how hard that ball was hit."

Tennessee turned a 5-4-3 triple play yesterday:

Knoxville News-Sentinel[/url]"]Carolina's Todd Frazier and Zach Cozart singled in the second and the brother of Boston Red Sox closer Jonathan Papelbon escaped by getting Eric Eymann to tap a 2-2 pitch to third baseman Jonathan Mota.

Mota gloved the grounder, stepped on the bag and fired to Tony Thomas for a second out. The second baseman pivoted and relayed to first baseman Doug Deeds to get Eymann by a half-step.

"I always have to be ready and anticipate triple play," said Mota, who turned a pair in 2005 while playing for Class A Boise. "We got the ground ball in the right spot."

Said Papelbon: "That's like hitting the jackpot, probably the power ball. When you get that you have to be thinking things are going your way now."

"Highly unusual but in that circumstance that was about as routine a triple play as you will see," Tennessee manager and Hall of Famer Ryne Sandberg said. "Always fun to watch and got us out of a jam."
