Positive thought of the day:

I only had to go back 3 seasons to find EIGHT different examples of teams with similar or worse starts than this Cubs team only to come back and win at least 89 games and/or make the playoffs.

08 Dodgers 28-30

08 Brewers 30-28

08 Mets 42-44

07 Yankees 38-41

06 Twins 25-33

06 Athletics 28-31

06 Padres 32-31

06 Dodgers 47-55

Some of those teams added players, some of those teams won weak divisions, and some of them just plain old got better. So while it seems like half our team is bums and it seems like the offense will never hit again, just remember that you don't have to go back far to find other teams that felt the same way only to have it turned around at the blink of an eye.

And I bet that a lot of those teams had more games to make up than 3.5 (with 3 of those games in hand that are completely under the control of the Cubs). Also the Cubs still have 11 games against the Brewers, meaning that if they play even outside of those games and win 2 of those 3 games in hand, they only have to go 7-4 in those 11 games, which is more than do-able considering that Aramis will be back sooner than it feels.

Santo basically crying when Brant Brown dropped the ball will always be a hilarious moment. It was uber painful when it happened, but it always makes me laugh.

Then I remember seeing Brant Brown playing in an Independent League game a few years later. Not sure the boos ever went away for that guy

Geez. Nice camera work CSN. They made it look like the ball was a homerun.

Yea no kidding. Followed Fuku all the way when the ball was to Sori, I got worried when I seen Fuku give up on it.
