According to the Denver Post, Rockies third baseman Garrett Atkins could soon face a demotion to Triple-A.

"There comes a point where we have to make a decision," manager Jim Tracy said Wednesday. "We are to the third of June now, and we are talking about getting to the point of a couple of hundred at-bats." Atkins has hit just .188/.264/.273 in 176 at-bats. Ian Stewart would make sense as his fill-in.

for real. My time in Denver has shown me just how dreadful the Rockies upper management is. They are among the worst in baseball easily.

I wonder if anyone has informed the fans yet that the guy patrolling left field for the Rockies this year is NOT Matt Holliday.

And we can buy very, very low on him. Worst case scenerio is he gives us what Bobby Scales, Andres Blanco, Ryan Freel, and Aaron Miles have given us.

I often don't agree with many of your ideas, but this one I'd be all over like white on rice. I've always liked Atkins.

Avoiding carbs? Or just a big fan of bacon?

Atkins would make more sense if Ramirez was out for the season. Not really any place to put him when Aramis comes back. He has only logged 8 innings at 2B and 14 in the outfield his entire career. He can play 1B but we have enough of those on the roster as it is. Still not a bad idea though just because of our chance to buy low like WSR said.

He would be a good bat off the bench when Aramis gets back our bench is dreadful.
