okay, now it's my turn for real! after an epic fail of a loss, the Cubs/Cobs try to rebound with serial killer Ted Lilly on the mound, with a record of 6-4 and a 3.50 ERA.

Is Ron Gant injured?

Lilly needs to focus on keeping the ball in the park, and the Cubs need to focus on not trying to drive every pitch out of the park. Lowe is beatable, but not if you try to play home run ball.

Chipper Jones may be out of Wednesday's lineup due to his sore right big toe.

The toe is giving him more trouble against left-handers than right-handers, so a matchup with Cubs lefty Ted Lilly could keep him on the bench. Martin Prado would likely draw the start at third if Chipper is unable to go.

This would be good.

I get the feeling (maybe it's a hope) that in 3-4 years we'll be looking back at lineups like this and laughing like we do now at those from the final games of the '05 or '06 seasons.

I really want this team to give me a reason to care about them, and instead they are crapping all over themselves.
