ouch, shut out by Suppan (et al).

The Cards are a mess right now.

Yep. Sucks that Ludwick had to go and get hurt when Pujols was slumping. And don't get me started with the roster. It's just constructed piss poor right now. 6 middle infielders. SIX! And TLR is still playing the worst defensive 2b in baseball at 2nd instead of the outfield where he is a plus defensively. And that outfield spot is being taken by a guy that has a minor league OPS below .750. Oh yeah, our starting pitcher filling in for Carpenter had the lowest starter ERA on the team and was yet to lose was sent down to make room for Brendan Ryan.

Why didn't you move Skip back to the outfield and call up Wallace to play third, sliding Thurston to 2B?

I know there are concerns about Wallace's glove. His bat is obviously going to translate. He was just called up to AAA today. I really have no idea why Skip isn't in the OF right now. Moving him to the OF, having Thurston and T. Greene or Ryan platoon at 2nd and playing Barden at 3rd makes too much sense I guess. Barden may only be a .750-.775 hitter, but he is gold glove caliber at 3rd. Super frustrating watching Tony trot out a shitty lineup everyday and what might be the worst infield defense in the league as well. K. Greene and Schumaker are the worst in the majors according to UZR/150, and it's not even close. They're like -60-70 put together.

Ok, this is probably foolish but, Pujols still has amazing range. Is it completely crazy to think he could play third and Wallace could just stand at 1B until Ludwick gets back?

I don't think you want Pujols take make any more throws than he has to with the shape his elbow is in.

I thought he had that fixed this offseason? But, yeah I know it would never happen, just a creative thought. I would be trying to get Brett's bat in their somehow.

What did he get ejected for?

Hitting a guy. Not watching so I don't know if there was any warnings or anything beforehand.

Apparently he threw a pitch behind Kinsler who went deep twice last night. He was then warned, and he still plunked him on the next pitch lol. Nice comeback Lackey

Lets be honest here. We all knew that start the Cardinals had was an anomaly. Late into April STL starting lineup was all hitting over .300 and that was with a bunch of nobodys in it. Yadi started out out of his mind. Stl starting pitchers werent giving up any HR's at all, and Ryan Franklin was yet to give up a HR or a run until last weekend. Its not a shock to me that they have fallen, and fallen hard. Their roster just isnt very good.

Lackey ejected after one batter.

Good job umps... what a crock.

Plus I picked the angels as my Streak for the Cash pick... thanks a lot awful umps!

Who intentionally throws at someone 2 pitches into their season debut? Get a clue.

Did anyone actually see it?

What the hell is going on with Raul Ibanez? He has 3 homers today in the double header and now has 13 homeruns this season. He also has 32 RBI's on the season. He's in the top 5 in all offensive categories so far this season. The guy is like 90 years old.

he's a streaky hitter (albeit his best stats usually come after the ASB) and moved from a pitcher's park to a bandbox. he's in his late 30s but keeps himself in amazing shape, which is why he hasn't shown any decline. he's a good player, underrated, even if his defense does suck.
