Swinging.

 

He checked his swing

 

Had he done that, that would have been a ball. The HP ump called him on the swing, not the pitch.

Pat Hughes called it a check swing called third strike. That's what I reported.

I've always been under the impression that a check swing called as a swing results in a swinging K instead of a called K.
