He has not started out well, that is for sure. But it is WAY to early to be gleeful over his struggles and start comparing him to Pie. The kid has played in 13 full games in his big league career and is known to be a somewhat slow starter.

Apparently, 23 games is too early to consider the Cardinals a threat, but 13 games is enough to consider a 22 year old prospect a bust, because he doesn't have a home run. Or, more accurately, he's full of [expletive].

Rasmus is going to work out fine in the majors. I think Meph was just pointing out how ironic it was that the Cards got good hitting from just about everyone out of the gate, (while the Cubs didnt) and its good to see the rookie actually playing like a rookie and not an allstar. (yet)

Slugging is supposed to be much higher than OBP.

 

Rasmus will be fine in all likelihood, although Meph's roundabout point about him not showing much power is a valid one. 3 doubles in 70 PA's is less than even his tempered rookie year expectations.

my point had very little to do with his long term prognosis. It's just great not seeing someone immediately come in and set the world on fire for the Cardinals. The Felix Pie comment was a pot shot to a few at GRB and some people here.

People probably didn't think Tulo was either. Watch more of Rasmus. His range is unreal.
