And Bruce basically confirmed it in his blog.

 

Given how little Vizcaino has pitched, I really don't see much of a point with this. Samardzija needs to work on his secondary stuff and I am still concerned about how effective he will be in the long haul in the bullpen at this point.

No, he said that Cotts was the only one he would confirm who was safe to stop the speculation that he would be the one released (along with Marshall staying in the rotation).
