In need of some cornerback depth and with no real steals sitting around anywhere else, the Patriots choose to go with a highly athletic, high upside player here.

So, with the 34th pick in the draft, the Patriots select CB/S Sean Smith from Utah.

Make that Mike Aller and the Browns are now on the clock. I PMd him.

I swear I checked this morning and AZ was still on the clock. It doesn't appear that Alex Mack was picked, so I'd rather have him. Can you make the switch, dew?

Sure. It's only been a few picks and I doubt any of the picks made would want Duke anyway.

Alright, no sign of Mike Aller, so I guess I'll make this one.

The Browns have a need for a pass rusher and there's one who is one of the best values on the board.

So, the Browns select OLB/DE Larry English from Northern Illinois.

mhuber and the Seahawks are now on the clock. I'll PM him.

Since it happened again in round 2 with players being drafted no where near where they are projected, both of my picks were taken again.

Obviously there is no way that this mock is anywhere close to reality.

I think this mock's first round could be fairly realistic, but the previous mock's second round was probably closer to reality.

WrigleyField 22 and the Bengals are now on the clock. I'll PM him.

Part of the reason I love the draft:

Both of these quotes are from different sections of the Cleveland Plains-Dealer.

Texas Tech receiver Michael Crabtree, at 6-1, 215 pounds and exceptional hands, could be just the blockbuster receiver the Browns need to make folks forget all about Braylon Edwards, if Edwards is traded. Some league insiders say the Browns have fallen in love with Crabtree, the top-rated receiver in the draft, and the feeling is mutual following a visit to Cleveland last week.

The Browns have all but crossed off Michael Crabtree as a candidate for the No. 5 overall pick, said a source.

I think this pick could be Michael Johnson. I have a feeling he'll bust though. I like Barwin's potential, but he looks like a 3-4 OLB, not a 4-3 DE. Center could be a need, and Unger would be a great pick, but there is also some good center depth.

So, while I'm not a huge fan, he is a better fit than Barwin, and it seems plausible enough that it could actually happen:

Bengals select Michael Johnson, DE, Georgia Tech

Wow, I didn't even notice that, it was such a reach.

Well I need to think this over for a few minutes now.

Okay, I'm gonna go with Donald Brown, RB, Connecticut. Benson showed some signs last year, but this will hopefully create a 1-2 punch, and Brown is a better receiver. DE and Center get put off until later rounds.

(I notice Rocket is still listed, but I was under the impression he didn't want to do this anymore. We can wait around for imput if you want).

He's still listed, but only because I'm leaving the original guys on the board even when they ask off. He did say he didn't want to continue with this one.

And I have a Bengals fan friend who would hate taking yet another running back in the top two rounds. Cincy would have taken more RBs in the first two rounds than the Titans have in recent years.

Brown's a good player, though.

The Bills will continue to work on the offensive side of the ball with this pick, filling a pretty major hole at tight end.

So, the Bills select TE Jared Cook from South Carolina.

jame.gumb and CubbieBum are now on the clock. I'll PM them.

Interestingly enough, Tom Waddle just said on Total Access that Jeremy Maclin's stock has been dropping a lot of late. He didn't understand why, but said it was fallling.

Still no way he'd fall to the Titans, though, I'd say.

I think that's a smokescreen. Maclin seems to be the kind of "speed" that Undead Al craves. I see Maclin going to Oakland.

I would think so too. But I tend to put a decent amount of stock into the Total Access guys.

jame's war room has chose to fill the offensive tackle need.

So, the 49ers select OT Phil Loadholt from Oklahoma.

Warpticon and the Dolphins are now on the clock. I PMd him.

Let's see how far we can get today, shall we?

The Giants here fill their need at outside linebacker by selecting Clint Sintim from Virginia.

Houston and rawaction are now on the clock. I'll PM him.
