Looking further at the box score he also hit a HR in the game. I wonder when the last time someone hit a HR as a starting field player and then win on to pitch.

Just looking at Gameday, his pitches were clocked between 71 and 80, most of them in the mid 70's.

 

Not great but you have to factor in that if he stretched out his arm and worked on being a pitcher again he could probably get into the low-mid 80's consistently.

Hated this guy everytime I heard him on the radio... there is being overly negative, and there is being overly positive... then... there is being NICK SWISHER. God I hate this guy's face.

Not to hijack the thread, but I know I wasn't alone in wanting to explore acquiring Swisher in the offseason to play right field. He's been solid every year but last year. Right now it's looking like it'd be a pretty good move, as he's hitting damn near .500. Even if he just has a pretty average season, I'd say it was still a pretty stupid trade by Kenny Williams considering how much they gave up for him. His power, patience, and durability sure would look good in the Cubs lineup right now.

Mike Murphy on the Score was trying to say all winter that Kenny Williams trading Nick Swisher and getting anything valuable for him was the best move by a Major League GM during the decade of the 2000's.
