Also the k-zone seems to be rather large today.

 

It's really inconsistent on the inside corner to righties/outside corner to lefties. There have been some good pitches on it not called and some really bad pitches on it that have been called.

What this game shows, more than anything else, is that Lilly's game is made for the misty, rainy days with the wind blowing in.

I heard Ted Lilly is throwing a NO HITTER?

 

Is it true that he has NO HITS?

 

That's freaking incredible that he hasn't allowed a SINGLE HIT so far in the entire game.

This game is eerily similar to the River Cats home opener last Thursday.

 

Rain delayed the start by about an hour and the starting pitcher was working on a no-hitter. The only difference was the River Cats' starter had to be taken out after four because his arm wasn't stretched out enough and he reached his pitch count limit.

More importantly, Lilly at 87 pitches through 6. He'll need an efficient inning next inning if he's going to keep this up.

I think the 2nd pitch was further outside than the first was there.
