Derrek Lee really didn't ground into that many DPs relative to chances.

 

EDIT: Ok, he grounded into a decent amount, but not at the absurd rate people seem to think. 15% DP rate, 23rd out of 138 BA title qualifiers.

That puts him in the top 6th of all hitters. That's high for your #3 hitter, who is supposed to be your best hitter.
