Chicago, IL (April 7, 2009) – Comcast SportsNet, the television home for the most games and most comprehensive coverage of the defending NL Central Division champion Chicago Cubs in HD, delivered massive television ratings for last evening’s 2009 Cubs regular season opener (April 6) -- an 8.14 household rating for its live coverage of the team’s NL Central match-up against the Houston Astros.

I'm guessing a big part of it is the fact that it was a night game on opening day. We haven't had one of those any season as far as I can remember (I started watching in 95, 96 was my first opening day)....

I could be wrong about that, though... There was a period in the early 2000's where I didn't watch as much.

That and it was a quick ball game.

I wonder if Z starts overall get a better rating because he works so fast. I know it helps me stay "in" the game more easily.
