The Cubs have signed pitcher Ken Kadokura, a teammate of Kosuke Fukudome in Japan, to a minor league contract. The Cubs invited Kadokura and 20 other players including veteran reliever Mike Stanton and outfielder So Taguchi.

Screw Luis Rivas... he's the dude that killed us in Pittsburgh the day Soriano dropped the fly ball...

I doubt they have any plans for Mike Stanton, it's more just trying to catch lighting in the bottle hoping that he pitches well. Most likely he won't be any good and will get cut. Luis Rivas is a guy I can see being called up during the season if a infielder goes on the DL though.

The Reds ate 3.5 million last year to just dump Stanton. Everyone goes ga-ga over the superstar salaries, but the real bandits are the loogys like Stanton and Orosco who accumulate $1-$5 million a year over a 20 year career completely under the radar of fan or media scrutiny.

Is this guy's wife & kid here yet? If not, can we just buy him a few hookers to make him feel more at home? This is getting ridiculous.
