Bye Byes

 ?

I think he's predicting the Steelers to lose, perhaps? Thus eliminating all four teams that earned a bye.

I am slow.

I could be wrong. He could be predicting his own banning.

Donovan McNabb is about to play in his 5th conference title game, which unless I'm much mistaken is more than any active quarterback, including Brett Favre (who's played in four to my recollection) and Peyton Manning (I believe three).

I think Brady has 5.

You are correct, sir. Four wins and a loss.

the Steelers are everything the Bears could (should) be if they had actual players

couldn't you say that about any team

i mean in terms of the style of football they like to play.

i don't really understand the point of your sig. are you saying that since the eagles are in the conf championship game that means he's a good coach? remember last year when norv turner took the chargers to the conference championship game? yea

5 conference championship games in 10 years. can you dig up a list of nfl coaches who have accomplished that feat? i'm guessing that most of them would not be considered the worst coach in the league during their tenures.

yeah and has lost 4 of them.

reid isn't the worst coach in the nfl, but he's bad. stop acting like getting to the conference championship game proves otherwise.

wrong. he won 1 and has his 5th one coming up. by my math that would leave 3 other games that he has coached in, which means that he has lost 3 of them.

anyway, you seem to be of the opinion that a coach who makes some poor in-game decisions is a poor coach. i completely disagree and think that a coach's success or failure is much more contingent on properly motivating his players and having them prepared to perform well in games, and surrounding himself with the proper coordinators and coaches. since we disagree on this, i don't see the point in carrying on this conversation with you any longer. feel free to believe that andy reid is a bad coach, and i will feel free to believe that your opinion is ridiculous.

we've already had this argument before. that wasn't my point. my point is that i don't understand why you decided to go find that quote and then put it in your sig... as if the fact that they got to the conference championship again means that the rest of the argument was meaningless and andy reid is automatically good.

i'll just chalk this up to you defending one of your guys. kind of like when andy reid said after the game that mcnabb is the best quarterback in the nfl.

Andy Reid is a very good coach, one of the better in the league. He has a career .610 winning percentage, has been to 5 conference championship games and has won 9 of 15 career playoff games. That's a pretty good resume. Especially considering he's won a higher % of his games than Jeff Fisher, Mike Holmgren, Mike Shanahan and Jon Gruden. His .610 winning % is also just .006% behind Bill Belichick.

And McNabb is a very underrated QBs out there. He's one of the better in the league. His own coach calling him the best isn't ridiculous (he's not, but I would expect a coach to embellish his player's value a bit).

like i said, i'm not even arguing right now about whether or not he's a good coach. we've already done that before. i just don't get why he thinks another conference championship appearance suddenly seals the deal or something like that.... or enough to where he thought it was a good idea to dig up a 2 month old quote

and i don't really see how mcnabb is underrated. i've always thought of him as good, but a bit overrated. maybe not by philly, but by the country. everybody always talks highly of mcnabb. i think he's good, but not an elite qb. he had a great season in 2004, was having a great season in 06 before he got hurt, but every other year he's just been "good". he hasn't even had a qb rating above 90 in any other season

I know. I've just never understood the national hate for McNabb and Reid. They're both better than most of the people in their business, but even the national media/fans seems to think they suck.

I hope Philly fans force McNabb out of there so that the Titans can go after him. He'd be an upgrade over basically any QB other than Peyton, Brady, Brees, Rivers, Eli and Roethlisberger. And he's pretty even with the latter four.

Part of his problem has been having no weapons whatsoever. His current WR corps includes Reggie Brown, Hank Baskett, DeSean Jackson, Kevin Curtis and Greg Lewis. I'm not sure there's currently a #2 in there.

Here are his receiving leaders throughout his careers: Jackson, Curtis, Brown, TO, TO, Todd Pinkston, Pinkston, James Thrash and Chad Lewis. In two seasons he had a real #1 receiver and he still has comparable numbers to a lot of the better QBs out there. If you gave him Houshmandzadeh/Chad Johnson, Harrison/Wayne, Burress/Toomer, etc., he'd probably have much, much better numbers.

I don't know. I know McNabb gets a lot of crap in Philly, but I don't see this national hate yu're talking about. I never see the media saying he sucks. Like I said, I see the opposite. I agree he gets treated poorly in Philly (who isn't?), but I constantly hear people talk about him as an elite quarterback. I can't remember anybody on TV ever talking him down or acting like he's not good.

I'd take McNabb over Eli and probably Roethlesberger, but not Rivers or Brees. He's really only had one season at the level of those guys. I'd also put hm behind Romo and Warner (as of right now).

I just don't think you can underestimate the impact having crap at receiver has on a QB. The only consistent threats McNabb has had throughout his career are Brian Westbrook and L.J. Smith - and, for two seasons, TO.
