I think he re-ups for about $2mil, which he is easily worth.

 

That's only $1 mil less than he would have made if the Cubs had picked up the 2009 option on his previous contract. Given that the Cubs want him back but at a lower price, I would think that if he and the Cubs can reach an agreement for one more year, it'll be $1 mil and change for 2009, tops.

I can't see him going anywhere else...I think he re-ups for about $2mil, which he is easily worth.

 

At 2m, Blanco will be playing somewhere else. Back up catcher is where the Cubs can afford to skimp, since Soto is so durable behind the plate.
