HORNETS vs CELTICS...epic PG matchup. Chris Paul and Rajan Rondo are going at it! Seriously, matchups like this are why the NBA is so much better than years past. CP3 just got a steal in his 103rd straight game, 2nd only to Alvin Roberson. THAT dude was a bad man.

Have I missed something? How is Rajon Rondo at all part of an epic PG matchup (or is this just because CP3 is that good)?

rajon rondo is pretty damn good. he's not going to score more than 10 points per game with ray, paul pierce and garnett on the team, but he shoots over 50% from the floor, he averages over 3 assists/to and more importantly to his matchup with cp3, he defends really hard. i watched as much of that game last night from my desk as I could and they were really going after each other, it was fun to watch.

I want to see Danny Granger make the All Star team.

Put up 42 on the Pistons last night, now averaging 24.0 ppg. 5 reb 3 ass.

Not quite as balanced as Caron Butler but its hard to ignore the scoring.

Never thought much of his scoring and shooting, but looking at his stats, he seems to have improved quite a bit this season. Wow.

My bad.

i really dislike kevin garnett and paul pierce, but if you want to take a raw, young player and get the most out of him, putting him in a starting 5 with kg, pierce and ray allen is probably about as good a way to do it as any

I don't see any way he doesn't make it. Granger is a man.

So, how about that Kidd for Harris trade?

I really glad the Cavs blew out the Nuggets.

There are a couple of guys at work who are big Celtic fans (who live in Ohio, and never mentioned anything about the Celtics before they got the big 3), and I constantly hear that the Cavs "haven't played anyone." It gets annoying. :(

you posted that last page and nobody responded

I thought you were talking to me at first...I just feel the need to point out how stupid that deal was, and it's especially noteworthy when Harris put up 41 on the Mavs in a blowout.

Hey IMB, the Thunder are holding tough.

By the way, your fans don't care much for calls that go against them, do they?

that's an epidemic in the state of oklahoma. it's worse at ou football or basketball games, it's all a vast official conspiracy. i really hate it.

as far as okc goes, we play really hard at home, but there's always a 12-minute stretch where we just get completely outclassed... i guess because we have three legitimate nba players on our roster.

the 12-minute stretches are an improvement, at least. Under PJ they always lasted for a full half.

Oh, btw, i know kobe is a better all around player, but check out and compare his shooting percentages to kevin durants' ... KD has a nice future ahead of him.

Kevin Durant is a beast. I see him as the second coming of McGrady, myself. Westbrook and Green are gradually coming along, too. Shame they have half a quality big man. Hopefully for them they get a shot at Griffin.

i haven't added them up recently, but in the first 6 games that westbrook started, he averaged 16 points, 5 assists and 6 rebounds per game. He can't shoot from the outside at all, but hopefully that comes, because he can get to the basketball at will, he rebounds like a madman and he really gets after it defensively.

Yeah, his shooting has been awful, but he's a column-filler and does a lot of little things. This was a very good draft year for point guards.

Holy christ do the Kings suck - they lost 108-63 to the Celtics tonight.

The 45-point loss is the largest margin of defeat at home in franchise history and the fifth-worst loss in the Sacramento era.

The 63 points is the lowest scored at home in the Sacramento era.

The 63 points, 19 field goals made and 27.9 shooting percentage are NBA-lows this year.

John Salmons led the Kings with 11 points and was the only player in double-figures. Donte Greene, who made 3 field goals, was the only one who made more than two.

Two teams, the Nuggets with 66 and the Lakers with 65, had more points at halftime today than the Kings scored in their entire game.

The Cavs beat the Heat in Cleveland to go to 16-0 at home. They go to Miami Tuesday and host the Bulls later this week, but after that it's just two poor teams before the big game hosting the Celtics on the 9th. Having already lost in Boston, the Cavs will need that game to keep from losing the tiebreaker for home court.

The refs in Miami are making some pretty weak foul calls. And, I'm not saying there is a huge bias, because LeBron has gotten some ridiculous calls too. It must be a sickness when Dwayne Wade plays.

[edit]

I mean, seriously. These are some of the worst calls I've seen all year. The foul they just called on Miami was almost comical.

Also, the Cavs are losing by 16 at the half. That makes it even more frustrating. :(

39 FTs in the first half for the two teams.
