what are you guys talking about? baseball has been over for weeks.

 

derrick rose is amazing.

 

Preseason basketball? Yuck.

 

Wake me up in a week.

 

I agree...but I'll take whatever I can get. I really enjoy watching Rose play. That said, I'm watching more of this random exhibition baseball game than I am Derrick Rose.

 

I miss the Cobs.

As disappointing as this October has been for us, I take some solace from the fact that the only appearance that the D'backs have made this postseason is in Taco Bell commercials.

Is the bottom of the second inning of game 1 too early to start complaining about the broadcast?

 

Whats with the primary up-high far away camera angle from behind the pitchers mound instead of the standard zoomed in view from left-center field? Pitcher on the left of the screen, batter on the right . It wasn't bad like this during the ALCS.

 

It's driving me crazy--you cant see the pitches break and you cant judge the top or bottom of the strikezone.

 

I actually really like the view they have. I much prefer it to the normal one.

YES. three more wins. tonight was a must-win for the phils IMO; the rays rotation is deeper than the phils', but hamels is the best starter in the series, and he needs to win his starts. myers over shields would be huge, but that's just gravy at this point. lose game one and you're staring at big problems. howard needs to get his bat going though - i have a hard time seeing them win the series with him leaving ducks on the pond every AB. he's guessing up there and it's ugly. throw a couple of bunts down the third base line.

 

i figured i would just root for the phillies as a casual fan, but apparently i don't do the whole casual fan thing very well. i'm definitely emotionally invested. i guess i just know too many big phillie fans, and too many people who have watched their teams crap the bed year after year. i am probably rooting more for the city than the actual team.

Everything about the Rays is obnoxious, they have the worst stadium in the league, and that franchise just can't win a WS before us in our lifetimes, no way.

 

but they have cowbells!

I agree with you, Cole Hamels starts are must wins for the Phillies.

Well, I'm obviously biased. He was born and grew up in the city I live in. He went to UCLA. And he's been great to the community.

I'm sure they won't call a World Series game, I remember the Yankees and Rangers played a game starting at about midnight or something like that.
