I'm confused as to what Bama needs to do to be respected.

Complete domination of Georgia and Clemson isn't enough for some respect?

I hate Alabama and really hate defending them, but this is a very good team.

17-14 Kentucky

24-20 Ole Miss

Beating Clemson is not impressive. They're 3-4.

And 41-30 over UGA (31-0 at halftime)

Alabama is a very inconsistent team. At their best they're as good as anybody. At their worst, they're that.

And even with this domination of Mizzou, I seriously question Texas' defense. They've shut down teams like Rice, UTEP and FAU, but does anybody really think that means anything? They've played two games against real teams, allowing 35 points to OU and 3 points to Mizzou. How good is that defense?

yeah, and oklahoma and mizzou have far better offenses than any single team in the sec, what's your point?

Most SEC teams, yes. I still think UGA and Bama have good to very good offenses - though worse than the Big XII teams.

I just question the assumption that Bama wouldn't have a shot. Would they lose? Probably, but it the likelihood is that it wouldn't be a complete blowout.

They played a great game at Georgia, no doubt. That doesn't mean that they're all of a sudden a great team. I'm sorry, but they wouldn't be able to hang with OU, Texas, USC or Florida.

Looks like the Big 12 North won't be much more than sacrificial lambs this year to the south.

Enjoy your Big 12 North title.

I doubt we'll beat you guys this year. We don't have the D line to exploit you. And we'll get annihilated by Texas. You'll come out of the north, in all likelihood.

Winner goes to the Independence Bowl.

To play Alabama.

nice.

the whole argument is moot, anyway. alabama isn't going to run the table. if they don't go down at lsu, they'll hiccup against a bad team.

I agree with this. No way Bama finishes the year unbeaten.

And I don't see the evidence to back that up (especially USC and UF).

Alabama beat Clemson when they were the 9th in the nation. This revisionalist argument has got to stop. You can't fault Alabama for Clemson for sucking after that game.

As for Kentucky and Ole Miss this two teams are very good, on the rise SEC teams that have really good defenses. This teams can beat any team in football. Kentucky and Ole Miss are quality oppenents that Alabama has beaten, and by the end of the yr BOTH will be playing in good size bowl games.

i almost feel like printing this post out just so i can read it every day for a good laugh

what terrible logic (not to mention english)

The funny thing is the SEC gets more accusations of cheating than any other conference in NCAA, with probably the most coming from Bama. Not to mention Saben has had his share of that, and is easily the biggest pimp of a head coach in the nation. If he stays more than 2 more years at Bama I will be shocked.

so, they have better offenses than most sec teams, except they have better offenses than all sec teams? haha. i like you, though.

Not sure where he'd go at this point, but I tend to agree that Saben likely doesn't have more than 2-4 more years at Bama.

He'll eventually move on like he has from every other job.

In all honesty, while I'd love to go to a better bowl game, as a KU football fan, I'm not gonna pretend to be above the Independence Bowl.

We've been there once in the past 3 years. Shreveport is a dump, I don't want my players to have to stay there again.

What? Your post makes no sense.

Bama and UGA have better offenses than the rest of the SEC, yet likely worse than Texas and OU. Does that wording make you feel better?

I could easily see them with 2 losses going into their bowl game.

This 4th quarter has been absolutely awful. Gave Kentucky the ball twice in their own territory, and both resulted in touchdowns 2 plays later. At least Arkansas gets the ball back with enough time to act like they want to win the game. Everybody who every commplained about "playing not to lose," I feel your pain. 7000 handoffs up 13 points, even on 3rd and long, is just...man.

Very possible. They still have LSU and Florida and even Tennessee or Auburn could give them a little fight (defensively at least).

Arkansas has committed 102 yards of penalties. I'd like to say they deserved to win, but then there's that.

3rd-15, Ark8 C. Dick passed to C. Dick down the middle for 3 yard loss
