brandon dubinsky and sean avery are pusses... mike richards hit dubinsky in the shoulder with his arm/shoulder but dubinsky went down clutching his head - which wasn't touched - and got an elbowing call. then richards hit avery parallel to the boards and avery launched himself into the boards intentionally - boarding call. if the refs are going to step up enforcement to prevent head injuries then the nhl should fine players for this type of garbage.

I haven't seen this yet, but Richards isn't getting any benefit of the doubt from me.

In other news, Detroit squashed St. Louis again today. The Blues have been right on the doorstep of a good winning streak a few times recently and have run into Detroit. Last time it was 5-0. Today, 5-2.

watch the "penalties" and get back to me.

Yah, Richards is not a dirty player. Don't wear a visor if you are going to play like that (taking runs at guy -its not dirty, but...) though. I guess it is the philly way.

Avery is nothing but a goon and a career 4th liner.

Oh wait that's 4 goals in 3 games.

who said that about him? most people acknowledge that he has some skill, but he's such an a-hole that a lot of teams don't want to be associated with him.

lol. you seem to be confusing taking runs at a guy with finishing one's check. and as for wearing a visor, who cares? look at how many guys get hit in the face by pucks, why is it a problem for you if a guy chooses to wear a visor?

Ovie with his 50th... God that guy is awesome. Honestly wish the NHL would market him, the best player in the NHL. Sucks that Crysby gets all the love for being half as good (and 2% as entertaining).

You know, I like Ovie. I really do. But his T.O.-like celebration with his stick when he scored his 50th was a little over the top.

I know that's not really him and he thinks this is "being marketable," but I think it's likely to turn off a lot of hockey fans.

And if he does that around the wrong guy, he just might get pummeled.

I wish I could like Ovechkin but he makes it impossible. Dude is so obnoxious. I'd rather watch a crybaby than a douchebag.

The 50th goal celebration was an embarrassment. Get that garbage out of here, this isn't the NFL.

I dont think these goal celebrations are as new as some purest would like to believe. I cant remember who the guy was, but there was a guy in the 70s who rode his stick like a horse after scoring a goal. If that is the worse part of Ovechkins game, I can live with it.

you also like sean avery

It's entertaining big deal... the dude is a superstar who just scored 50 goals AGAIN... let him have his moment. I don't see people crying about posing after a big dunk or huge touchdown.... or wait even after homeruns.

you don't?

most nhl players aren't cocky showboats so that's why you don't see it ub hockey, and that's a great part of the nhl.

you know if crosby did it you'd be trashing him like crazy

Crosby will never score 50 goals so we don't have to worry about that do we?

so acting like a douche is acceptable if you score 50 goals but not if you lead the league in points

got it

All things considered secondary PP Assists should only count as 1/4 of a point anyways... that's all he gets.

haven't we already discussed the fact that crosby doesn't have a higher ratio of pp points than other top scorers and that you basically made it up? im pretty sure we did

PP points are great if they're goals.
