Lucic is probably my favorite player off of the Kings and Caps (who I've watched a ton since the day they fired Hanlon last year). He is a pretty great combination of skill and strength/toughness. Fun player to watch.

Just watched it... 2 things:

 

1) Crosby killed him.

2) Crosby is a [expletive] for just attacking him before he even had a chance to drop the gloves.

 

ok... and 3) I still hate Crosby and think that was sort of cheap, but he is a pretty tough SOB.

Crosby jumped him...his nose cut when he went to the ice. I don't think Crosby really "killed" him.

 

McLean took it in stride though. He said afterwards, "I've been in a few pretty poor fights in my day, so that just goes into another one of those."

i credit that more to crosby having no idea what the hell he's doing (fighting) than being dirty. actually i'm impressed that he dropped the gloves; i don't think he had a reason to go after mclean so that means he was trying to shake the pens out of their doldrums. that's what a good leader does.

There's no thread for this so I suppose this is the most appropriate place. I watched most of the world jr. semis tonight, Canada vs. Russia.

 

Canada tied the game with 5.4 seconds left and then won in a shootout after a scoreless 10-minute overtime. What a game. Jordan Eberle (Edmonton draft pick) scored the tying goal and then totally buggered Russia's goalie in the shootout. He's an exciting player. He and Tavares...wow.

 

NHL Network is airing the championship game against Sweden Monday night. I think they are re-airing both semis again tomorrow night too. Great hockey, and a wild atmosphere in Ottawa.

Oh... and before I forget. Since Crosby is such a tough guy now, I suggest everyone watch the Pens/Thrashers game on Tuesday to watch Boulton put that turd in his place. Wonder how many game's hes gonna get suspended for.

Did you watch the Canada-Russia game? Hickey looked really bad. Trying to do way too much and making some unnecessary pinches. Only one game though.

I think Crosby has to get a suspension for what he did last night. I think for his own safety at some point the NHL has to suspend him. He also needs to be told that playing dirty is not the same as being tough.

 

also the Penguins announcers from the Youtube clip obviously didnt watch the same fight I did. What Crosby did was not standing up. It was attacking someone while he was trying to win a face-off.
