No, the Cubs would be. Billingsley pwns the living crap out of them. The one Manny homer Zambrano is guaranteed to give up would be more than enough to win the game.

The Cubs beat Billingsley twice this year, scoring 6 runs in 11 IP.

17.2 innings pitched.

22 strikeouts

6 walks

3.07 ERA

1.25 WHIP

That would be his career starts against the Cubs. Three games to sample from. He pitched four shutout innings of relief against us in 2007. Albeit good, those numbers aren't fantastic. It's not like he's lights out against the Cubs.

Not as bad as I thought..

And that's why, you always look it up!

Maybe I'm being too optimistic, but I think we have a real chance to win this thing. Since the AS break, we have had only 2 losing streaks of three games or longer. One that was three games and one that was six games. I really think we win tonight.

Now on to better things. Since the AS break, the Cubs have had six winning streaks of three games or longer. These were

7/27-7/31: 5 game streak(Marlins & Brewers)

8/5- 8/8: 3 game streak (Astros & Cards)

8/10-8/15: 5 game streak (Cards, Braves, and Fish)

8/23-8/29: 7 game streak (Nats, Pirates, Phillies)

9/10-9/16: 5 game streak (Cards, Astros, Brewers)

9/20-9/22: 3 game streak (Cards & Mets)

This doesn't mean that I expect us to win the next three, and I'd surely feel better if we hadn't crapped the bed in games one and two, but it is possible to win this series.

I'm really not going to say we'll win, and in reality I expect we'll lose, if not tonight, tomorrow...but there is a chance and it isn't crazy to think so. It all depends on the team playing like they did over the first 162 games of the season and not the last two.

I'm Charlie Brown and the Dodgers are Lucy, but I'll be there to fall on my ass tonight (or tomorrow...or Tuesday) like always.

There's always hope, but I don't plan on feeling any pain tonight regardless.

I'm relatively optimistic too, but this is silly. Three game losing streaks are irrelevant; at this point it's about avoiding a one game losing streak.

I'd say we have about a 27-28% chance of bringing the series back to Chicago, and I really like our chances in that scenario.
