Cubs playoff games occuring during other obligations. OH NO!

Posted
I have a couple different obligations from 8-9:30 on Wednesday, so I'm hoping that Game 1 is in hand by the time I have to leave. Game 3 is right in the middle of Mizzou-Nebraska, so I have no idea how I'm going to manage that.

I'm already trying to figure out how to get another TV to put in my room. I was going to watch MU-NU with some friends, but that's not gonna happen now.

Cubs on HD on one TV. Mizzou on the old standard definition right next to it.

Here's my issue...my daughter's 8-year-old soccer practices starts at...yup, you guessed it, 5:30. But, she's sick, so I don't have to coach, do I?

GO CUBS!

11 more to go...

I love my Tigers as much as anyone--and yes, they are headed to the National Championship game this year--but the Cubs must be the priority right now. Plus, we're going to whip the Nubs by 3 touchdowns, you can catch it on TiVo later.

GO CUBS (and Mizzou)!

11 till the prize...

The Tigers finished last in the AL Central.

Oh, trust me, the Cubs will have precedence. Even though Dick Stockton is announcing, the Mizzou game will be the one muted.

A sorority dance? Seriously?

I agree. Now I'm single, unemployed, and back home in Chicago. I will not miss a single Cubs pitch in the month of October. (Aside from when I have to go down the long winding ramp to use the bleachers bathroom).

Stupid old stadium with its out-of-date amenities!

I got a pretty good one....

So I've lived in Chicago my whole life...the Cubs were 8-0 in the games I was at this year. I go to school in Ohio, but this semester I'm spending it over in Europe. Today (it's 9:23 am right now) we leave on a school sponsored field trip to Amsterdam for the rest of the week. Now usually here if it's a somewhat important/interesting game I just stay up late and make up for the sleep the next day. But now our first night tonight everyone is ready to "explore Amsterdam," and the game starts at about midnight local time. The hotel we stay at lets you pay for internet 24 hours a day.

Now I know studying abroad is a once in a lifetime thing. And I know that I'll probably never get to be 20 years old and be in Amsterdam again. But I also feel like this is a once in a lifetime Cubs team, and I lived and died with them this summer. I know, I know....two pretty amazing choices. But I wasn't coming here to brag or anything. It's just going to suck having both of them in front of me all week and having to miss out on one.

Dude, it's game 1 of the NLDS. Go enjoy Amsterdam tonight.
