Dempster has been our most consistent starter of the year HANDS down. In game 1 you want to set the tone, and Dempster is the one to do that.

 

Harden is obviously our "best" pitcher but seems to rarely get through the 6th... but he is still our best.

 

Zambrano is too much of a headcase, I would NOT want him to pitch game 1 and implode and set the wrong tone.

 

Lilly I'd pretty much be comfortable with anywhere in the rotation.

 

But it's hard to argue that Dempster hasn't been the clear cut ace this year.
