Votto must really nthink hes facing the Cubs.

They're facing a talented but struggling NL Central team trying desperately to clinch a playoff spot despite an injured ace and an underperforming supporting cast; the resemblance is certainly there, no?

To the 2008 Cubs?

Not really.

The only part that's really even close about that comparison is the injured ace part, but the situations really aren't comparable even in that specific case.

Anderson is getting excited about WTP from Braun.

What the... poo?

I couldn't connect the acronym to the phrase. Brain fart.

Yea, I had to think about it for a second the first time I saw it.

As I said before though, its hard to ignore the similarites between this 2008 Brewers team and the 2004 Cubs team.

Pretty similar. The Cubs waited longer before collapsing, but fairly similar teams.

I can't believe the Brewers season has spiraled this out of control.

If they lose this they will have gone 4-14 in September, gone from up 5.5 games to down 2.5 games (if the Mets and Phillies scores hold), losing 8 games in the standings in an 18 game span. This will likely crush the hopes of all Brewers fans, who really didn't deserve to have this happen to them at all. I mean after waiting 26 years for your team to go into the playoffs, and to be 5.5 games up heading into September, to having this happen to you and knowing that your 2 Ace starters are almost certainly going to leave via FA and you are going to have to start over again....I just cant imagine how bad it must be to be a Brewers fan. I really want them to make the playoffs, but can't see myself rooting for them to beat us, even if the games are meaningless for us.

HAHA. The Brewers have completely fallen off the cliff. I love it.

Let's hope the score holds up and we win tomorrow to wrap up the division.

Actually the 04 Cubs and the 07 Mets are prolly a little bit of a better comparasion then the 08 Brewers and the 04 Cubs. Simply because both teams were very talented, and held a division lead late in the season and then collapsed. Nonetheless 08 Brewers, 07 Mets and the 04 Cubs are definately comparable teams...

Except the Cubs didn't hold a divisional lead..

I don't feel bad for the Brewers fans at all (Ball and Glove aside).

Unlike with the Cards and other "rivals," I actually do dislike the Brewers a lot and a lot of their fans remind me of White Sox fans except that they're in our division so we actually have to deal with them. I love their back to back epic collapses and it's funny how screwed they are in terms of Sheets and CC.

Jolbert Cabrera joins the Upper Deck parade, homering off Parra. I'm not listening to the Brewers' radio broadcast, but I imagine that when Uecker comes back on the air he'll sound a lot like Harry Doyle during an Indians losing streak.

"And the Brewers just got their leadoff man on. I think I'll wet myself."

i feel bad for the brewers because they're a perennial loser and on the rare occasions that they do make it into contention, it's rough to have them kick you in the nads by falling apart. i definitely hate the cards more than the brewers; the cards can never win another game for all i care, and i'll be happy. i don't like the astros either. the brewers are just kinda "meh" to me.

Alfredo Amezaga just hit a 3 run jack against the Phillies... Marlins up 11-6 now in the bottom of the 5th.
