I don't think it will be as big an issue with 2 weeks and only the Angels clinched going into the start of the series. We'll probably see some guys rested next week though. Last year's final was tough on me - I had Beckett, Lackey and Sabathia rested plus the Giants shut down Lincecum for precautionary measures (this year, Bochy says the hell with precaution). Good to see it's more fair for both teams this year.

Should be very interesting with so many pitching starts to affect the way this goes. I'm glad to be back in the finals this year. I hope this time I can finally win, don't want to turn into the Buffalo Bills here.

Good luck.

What are the rules in regards to cutting starters who are hurt but not placed on the DL (no DL needed in September) and replacing them with free agents?

Down 80 to start the week but as of now have cut that to around 49-50 and I have a 1 start adv. the rest of the way. Gotta hope my bats way out perform Navins, that Papelbon and Krod actually pitch more games this week, and that I get some help from that one start advantage. Gonna be tough to do!

You'll have a 3 start advantage after today. I have Maholm vs Sabathia on 3 days rest today.

CC on 3 days rest again! The Brewers are going to ruin him.

Juan, by when do we have to make our cuts?
The last couple of years it was Valentines Day. I like that, because it gives plenty of time to make post-season trades that might affect decisions on who to keep.

BTW, I'm almost sure Alamo Stealth won. I believe the two weeks were scored separately, and that the winner is determined by the combined score for the two weeks.

I'm up 38 but today's Tigers-White Sox game will count (Tootielicious has Granderson and Dye, I have no one). The potential Twins-White Sox game tomorrow will also count if necessary (Tootielicious has Morneau and Dye, I have no one). Gavin Floyd's start won't count for Tootielicious.

I didn't even think of those games counting. They don't count in the Yahoo leagues I'm in.

Why would they count?

No clue. I think today's game makes sense but I'm not sure why game 163 would count. But Sportsline is saying they both count:

Baseball Make-up Game and One Game Playoffs

The make up game between the Tigers and the White Sox on 9/29 will be included in week 26 results. If a one game tiebreaker needs to be played on Tuesday, that game will be included as well.

Hope I don't get burned by that. I hope 38 points is enough of a lead for 4 hitters.

Go Tigers!

both games are technically regular season games.

btw, the winner gets to host me at Saturday night's game in LA. Any suggestions on seats to avoid N?

I'd avoid the Top Deck unless you like nose bleeds. And if you're going to drop $56, I'd skip the all-you-can eat RF pavillion unless you really like free Dodger dogs (beer isn't free) and one of the worst views in the park.

The first two levels are great views and pretty close by.

that are taking place on monday and tuesday. and the fantasy week runs monday-sunday...or at least it has every other week in this league's history.

i would have guessed neither game counted.

Even though I really never agree with Adam about anything, I agree with him here. We don't count games outside of the week of play for anything else, why would we do it now?

I'm pretty darn sure abuck and I didn't count game 163 last year (of course I'm biased since I have more to gain be these games not counting).

Damn it, 2 points for Jermaine Dye already.

that's not true. the first week we count the games before Monday (Japan games, the Sunday night opener.

yeah, but the japan teams and the sunday night teams usually have fewer games during the actual week. the white sox are getting an 8 game week now.

I'm up 30.75 going into tomorrow's last game. Don has Justin Morneau and Jermaine Dye tomorrow.
