If Arroyo can do to them what he did to us, DBR might stand a chance. CCs due for a loss. However, apparently, Brandon Phillips broke a finger on his game winning single last night, and his seasons over.

Still, Im sick of relying on others to bail the Cobs out of their own mess. Whoever wins wins.

Padres almost won against CC last time out. Let's hope Arroyo is still on top of it. I would love to come home from school to a sizeable Reds lead.

But in all likelihood, Cubs have to do the winning themself today.

I gotta believe the Brewers win today and that's alright, a series win for the Reds is all we could've hoped for. Philly going to luck out by not facing CC.

lol are you serious? He broke a finger on a single?

He actually broke it attempting to bunt earlier in the at-bat, but stayed in long enough to hit the game-winning single. Not as bad as getting shut out by a pitcher with a broken leg last year, but it comes close.

Im just now remembering game 3 of the Cubs/Reds series where he kept fowling pitches off himself and I thought he was done for.

Same here, I don't give a rodent' behind anymore about the Brewers or Phillies or team X. Its all on the Cubs, if they play like they're capable of playing they'll start winning series thereby, making the results of Brewers' and Phillies' games meaningless.

Looks I remembered it a lot worse than it was (6 or 7 shutout innings was what I was remembering for some reason), but it was still pretty pathetic: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2966509

Jason Hirsh took a liner off his leg in the first inning, and later it was revealed that he broke the bone on that play. He stayed in to pitch 6 innings, allowing only 3 hits and 2 runs. That game pretty much epitomized the Brewers' collapse last season.

Well, that and the Ramirez walkoff. But let's not dwell on the past.

After this game you could predict with certainty what the cubs will tonight.

I swear for like the last 40 games there has only been like 4 days where they have both played that one lost and one won a game.

Cubs get hot, they get hot.

Cubs go cold, Brew goes cold.

Tied at the hip.

Took 18 pitches for CC. That's a pace of 108 through 6 and 126 through 7.
