Is Volquez considered a rookie?

If so, he could make it very tough on Geo to win NL ROY.

He's not a rookie. Soto will win it in a walk, with Jurrjens being the only other guy I could see getting 1st place votes.

and he still inherited most of their young talent.

well he was the director of baseball development in 2004-05, so i guess he inherited it from himself.

you're really missing the point on this; it's not a lifetime achievement award.

How about Manny for NL MVP?

He shouldn't even be in the discussion.

Why? It's not his fault he was traded from league to league. His season OPS is over 1.000 now and he's been ridiculous since he came to the dodgers. I'm not saying he should win, but I bet he'll get some votes.

Doesn't matter. When the season is over, he'll only have played in the NL for two months and you shouldn't be in the discussion for MVP of a league if you only played in that league for 1/3 of the season. It doesn't matter the reason Manny only played in the NL for two months was because he was traded, he shouldn't be in the discussion. He could have been hurt for four months or suspended for all I care. It's still just two months out of six.
