Matt S (Chicago): Does Josh Vitters retain top 50 prospect status after a great second half of the year? I have to admit, I was already about to call him a bust in June.

Kevin Goldstein: Josh Vitters can RAKE. Totally RAKE. Love, love, love him.

Ah, Derek Lee. I remember the numerous running jokes we had about him about a year or two ago.

Derek Lee wasn't expected to start:

Des Moines Register[/url]"]The best-of-five series continues at 6:35 tonight with J.R. Mathes (9-5, 4.29 ERA) starting for Iowa and Oklahoma's starter uncertain. Tommy Hunter (4-2, 2.89) was going to start for the RedHawks, but was sent to the hospital Wednesday after being hit in the forehead by a line drive during batting practice.

I know it's not a Cubs game, but for those who don't know, Sean Gallagher is starting for the River Cats tonight.

I-Cubs getting spanked. Good thing Lou took their best hitter and buried him.

Yes, because the I-Cubs need is clearly greater than the big league Cubs' need.

Daytona lost 5-4. They scored 2 with 2 outs in the 9th but Russ Canzler struck out stranding Marquez Smith at first. The third and deciding game is tomorrow.

Cashner was strong this side of a few control issues: 3.1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 3 BB, 7 K.

cashner seems to be tough to hit when he throws the ball over or near the plate.

Technically, he's tough to hit when he doesn't throw it near the plate, but for a completely different reason.

I wasnt saying that. I was saying if Hoff stays glued to the bench, whats the point?
