Road cap gone next year?

This isn't the most reliable thing ever, but I do read Paul Lukas's Uni Watch blog each day to see if any notable uniform changes have occurred or are occurring, and today he posted this tidbit in his end-of-entry 'news ticker':

 

Scuttlebutt over on the Chris Creamer board is that the Cubs will scrap their road cap next season.

 

If true, thoughts?

I know a lot of people buy both caps. In fact, many will buy any type of cap that somehow becomes avaliable. Hence the 4th of July specials and such.

I have official fitted home and road caps. I like my road cap better.

For some reason I just don't like wearing the "official" hats. My last couple of hats have been the Franchise hats, the latest one I got on Opening Day looks just like the home hat. I think I just like the backing out of the hats, the stuff that keeps the hat up behind the logo. IMO it makes the hat much more comfortable.

i dumped $30 on an official fitted cap last year and it's too small for me. totally sucks

The flexfit fitted caps that have come out the last few years are great. The only Cubs one I have is a batting practice one from a few years ago.

I'm the store manager of a Lids, and I can tell you that many, many people go out of their way to buy the road cap. If this news is true, it will hurt our business.

red is my favorite color. it looks good on the hat and i have no problem with the cubs having a home and road cap. this year i finally got an official hat that fits, but its the home hat. i would get the road hat, but not too many stores carry cubs hats in size 8 however i do plan on doing so in the future.

 

if you all hate it so much, demand that the red "C" on the cap change to a different color or come off competely.

If you can look past Paul Lukas bitching his glasses off about seeing the Nike logo on something or teams with teal or purple as a color (not always an easy task, granted), it's often an excellent daily read for people who take note of and interest in the uniform side of the sports we watch. I read it daily.
